It all began with an old VHS tape. At 8 years old, watching Gorillas in the Mist sparked a deep, lasting love for wild animals—and it completely changed my career path! My childhood dream of opening a bakery and spending my days enjoying croissants was quickly replaced with a commitment to work alongside like-minded people to create a better world for future generations.
Fast forward more than 30 years, and I’m proud to say my career has taken me on a unique journey. It’s helped me grow my cross-cultural understanding, develop a curious mindset, and build skills in transferring knowledge and solving problems in new and diverse environments.
As a scientist, I’ve earned a reputation for collecting, analysing, and interpreting data to support decision-making and policy in fields like One Health, agriculture, food systems, and wildlife management across academia, government, and the private sector in multiple countries. In my role as a programme lead, I’ve successfully secured funding for and managed large international development projects focused on equity and resilience.

In my free time, I love to read, which helps me relax while gaining fresh insights. If I’m not at home, you’ll likely find me out trail running with my husband, teenage son, and two dogs, or battling slugs in my vegetable garden!
